Last week, football star, Neymar caused quite a stir on social media and the news in general after the Brazil captain left Barcelona for Ligue 1 giants, PSG for a world record transfer deal of €222 million.

After the transfer, fans of Barcelona came out to slam the winger on social media saying that he has shown extreme disloyalty to the club for leaving at such a crucial time after the club brought him ‘out of the gutters’, they believe that Barcelona signed Neymar from a relatively unknown club (Santos Fc) and brought him into the spotlight.

The fans also argued that Neymar claims that he needed to pursue his career but that he had everything he needed at Barca, the perfect mentor; Lionel Messi, perfect team-mate, Luis Suarez and others and many said that this is not only a betrayal for the club but for the players too seeing as he always had a good relationship with the other members of the MSN trio.

While a lot see this as a betrayal, other Barcelona fans have decided to look at the bright side and say this is a blessing not just for the player who they later wished the best of luck on his football journey but also for them. With many claiming that they did not lose a talented player but a player without discipline with many comparing him to Ronaldinho on account of his indiscipline.

Neymar was known to be late for training and constantly got in fights with team mates, with the last one occurring the weekend before his transfer deal to PSG was summed up, it is believed that Neymar’s indiscipline is as a result of him being a key player and the fans encouraged the Barcelona players to put on a strong showing this season so as to prove to the player that he is not indispensable.
