Mr Eazi: The Best to Look Out For in 2017
Life encompasses challenges from differs phase of it, but only the weak will give up for the strong. The Nigerian music industry has over time establishes the turn of this phase for its artiste. Sure! Only the strong upcoming artiste will rise to stardom, due to numerous challenges from the legends and boss of the industry. With this, there are several artiste whose believe in his or her handwork is unfailing, and certainly the best to look out for in 2017.
One of such is, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, who is a Ghana based Nigerian Hip-hop act that is currently making wave and gradually becoming a household name in Nigeria. He’s a delight of his Ghana fans as he dishes mind blowing music in English with blend of Ghana lingua.
Mr Eazi’s style of music – vocals and punch lines has facilitated his rapid popularity in the Nigerian music industry, no wonder he caught the attention of StarBoy Worldwide Record’s boss; Wizkid who signed him to his label.
Mr Eazi first discovered his passion to make music when he started recording music for free at PeeWee and Klumonsta studios, where he released his breakthrough single “PIPI DANCE” and also recorded his first mix tape “About to blow” produced by Klumonsta. He went on to record “Bankulize” Remix, which was a single of the “About to blow” mix tape with Uk based Ghanaian frontline producer, Dj Juls. The music is made in Ghana, inspired by Ghana, but Mr Eazi has no nationality. He is a worldwide citizen. This new mix propelled Mr Eazi to stardom and paved the way for other hit songs like “Skin-tight”, “Hollup” and “Sample you”.
Branding his Genre “Banku Music” (A subset of Afrobeats), which is characterized by laid back (its- like) deliveries on majorly afro-soulful instrumentals, influenced by his Ghanaian/Nigerian cultural upbringing. Mr Eazi is the fastest rising Afro-beats artist with four Hit singles already to his credit. He currently shuttles between Nigeria and Ghana at the moment for both music, Business, and Family.
The African star who recently released his debut album ‘Life is Eazi’ has collaborated with a number of acts from both Ghanaian and Nigerian music industry such as featuring Sarkodie on ‘Anointing’, ‘Bankulize Remix’ featuring Burna Boy, featured Efya on ‘Skin Tight’ and ‘Sample You’ where he featured Lil Kesh (on the remix) among others.
The Mechanical Engineering graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, was controversially exempted from the annual Ghana Music Awards 2016 because he’s not a Ghanaian citizen. However, back home in Nigeria he won the highly coveted Next Rated Act category at The Headies 2016 and won the Best New Artiste of the Year at the Soundcity MVP Awards/Festival 2016.
He is indeed one of the acts to look out for in this 2017 as he looks set to do big things in the industry.
